It's February First - Time to Plant Some flowers

With apologies to all of you living east of the Rockies (have you SEEN the weather map!), I celebrated the new month and the sunshine by going to Home Depot and buying a few posies to decorate my front porch.
I know winter isn't over, and I may be rushing things, but it sure felt good to plant something and have a bit of color. It looks like our high today will be about 44, but the high in Fort Morgan, CO, where my daughter and family live, is -1 today. Brrr.

Stay warm and safe out there.

  1. Oh Linda,
..they look so pretty; seriously, will winter end so I can plant my flowers? Although I did plant some pansies and the deer ate every single last one of them AND took the dirt! Can you beleive that?

  2. The primroses call to me everytime I go to the grocery store. I doubt I'll be able to fend them off much longer. They are so beautiful.

  9. Yes, I'm trying to get the garden ready for spring and enjoying the calendulas blooming on the south side of the house. Oh yes, the camelias are starting to bloom.

  10. OH wow! I just love the color. I think it's fabulous that you are actually heading toward spring in Seattle. My daughter is being hit by a white-out in Illinois right now.

  11. Weather across the US is certainly variable right now. Not only cold in Colorado, but freezing rain in Texas, snow in the midwest, sheesh! I'll take our PNW weather any time, including the rain.

  12. Oooh, makes me want to play in the dirt, too! Maybe some pansies until it warms up a little more.
