Moving On

We didn't win.  That is, our Seahawks didn't win the Battle of the Birds against the Atlanta Falcons.  But considering Seattle was down 20 - 0 at the half, we didn't lose by much at Falcons 30 - Seattle 28.  Seattle actually pulled ahead 28-27 with 31 seconds to go.  Then Atlanta kicked a field goal, still leaving us with about 13 seconds.  This game just kept going on and on and on, but finally ended when Atlanta intercepted a Seattle Hail Mary pass in the end zone in the last second.  It was exhausting!

And so Seattle is done.  Some of us  will watch the rest of the playoffs and the Super Bowl.  Some of us will just move on.

We already got moving.  To walk off the tension of the game, we went for our first Sunday destination walk of the new year.
The Green River is just a few miles from home.  Just recently the flood walls that had lined the banks were removed, having been in place for two years, while an upstream dam was strengthened.  It's good to have this nearby walking opportunity back.

The tractors smiled at us as the sun smiled down on us.
It looked like a crow's picnic under the cottonwoods.
The Costco parking lot was crammed and lines of cars streamed in and out.  I guess everyone waited until after the football game to do their shopping.
The pond was frozen over - no bird action today.
The Canada geese preferred the lawn.

Winter colors have a subtle beauty.
These ducks were too far away for my little camera to get a good shot.
As the shadows lengthened we headed home.

Now it's fluff time - time to watch the Golden Globes.

  1. I'm sorry they didn't win, and they were so close! Nice walk, Linda. And I know you will be there rooting for some team or other, won't you? :-)

  2. We watched Pete Carrol call a time out just as the Falcons' field goal sailed out of bounds. Lol. Fun moment. We were just amazed when the 2nd field goal gave them the victory.
