What's New?

A car!
We finally traded in our 2001 Toyota Corolla. It still runs great, has always been a very reliable car, but it was so noisy on the freeway and was getting very hard for us to get in and out of.
Thank you, old white car. You served us very well.

Thursday we stopped at the Dollar Car Sales lot that we drive buy almost every time we go somewhere. We had been studying cars, and knew we liked the little Chevy Sonic we had rented on a trip. We saw this little red Chevy in the used rental car lot several days ago, and finally went on line to see what it was. It's a 2015 Chevy Cruze, and after test driving it, we bought it!
By Thursday afternoon it was parked in our garage, sporting our teams' logos.

Today we took it on a freeway drive down to Chehalis, about 100 miles each way, to see my sister and brother-in-law. It was so much quieter, smother and more comfortable.

We love our new little red car!

  1. Your new car is one of my favourite colours!! When I needed a car we found everything except that it was sort of tan colour. I always wanted to be an old lady in a bright red car. Maybe my next one??

  2. Good for you. Our car is a 2003 model, low mileage, runs good etc. I'm holding my breath it will last as long as Bob lives. I do not like to drive or deal with cars. When this one goes we'll have to have a family conversation because mama doesn't want to keep driving.

  4. Ooooooooooooohhhhh.... I LOVE your little red car too. I've always wanted a red car and the closest I got was a maroon van.

  5. A new car is exciting. I am over 100,000 with my banged up 2010 Prius. I love having a new car, but I hate the process of buying one. Mike used to do extensive research. I am a complete impulse buyer when it comes to cars. Sometimes that has worked out (most times, actually).

  6. I love your little red car, too! I especially love that it's a Chevy Cruze. I think you will continue to like it.

  7. I've got a 2001 Honda Civic and love it, but it also am hankering after a new used car. I probably won't do anything about it, though. I drive so little these days. Love your pretty red car, though, and now I'm thinking, well, maybe... :-)

  8. But...how many plants can you get into the trunk? J/K Although that is a factor for me, I know you guys don't go all out plant shopping like I do sometimes. Looks like a great little car! Our 2007 Prius is getting old, and we talk about what we might eventually get, but haven't settled on anything.

  9. Ah and such a handsome car it is. Red is my favorite car color. May it give you all the trouble free years the Toyota did.

  10. Love your red car! It is a Cruz just like our last vehicle, we didn't like how difficult it was to get out off so now we have a Buick. Our Cruz was great on gas mileage we consistently got above 38 and up to 43 mpg! Enjoy!! :)

  11. New cars are always so much fun! We rarely buy new cars, so a new one is a big occasion for us. I really like the red color. I'm like Alison, though - carrying capacity is a serious consideration, and we usually end up with a van or a truck! :) Thanks Linda, for your greenhouse advise. Still trying to figure out how to use it during the summer months and so far my "curtains" are working. :)

  12. Your wisteria header is gorgeous! Happy new car to you! So is Dollar Car Sales like the Dollar store - Everything's $1.00? If so I know where I'll get my next car! :)
