Make it Stop!

The days are all mixed up now. One or two days ago, we were between snow storms, and we shoveled the driveway apron.
I guess that was Saturday. Sunday afternoon it snowed a few more inches.
This is Monday, right? So it started about 10:00 and at 5:00 it is still snowing. When I measured at 4:00 there were over five inches on the cleared part of the driveway.

Our hill has been plowed and sanded, and then covered again.

I went out to check the mail - nope. No mail delivery, and no garbage pick up, again.
Then of course I stayed out to tromp around a bit. It was slow going through the ever deepening snow.
It was snowing in chunks.

Snow Cat found me, and tried to follow, jumping from one boot print to another, meowing all the way.

When I turned around, he hurried back to the house.  Too much snow for Snow Cat.

 Maybe 15 inches?
 The ruler disappeared here.

Now it's 5:30 PM, and still snowing. The weather forecast is for it to turn to rain. What a mess that will be!  But we want the snow to STOP!

  2. I agree with the title of your post! We don't have as much snow as you do, and while it was pretty for awhile, I'm so over it! We will probably have all snow tonight, while your precipitation will turn to rain. That will be a HUGE mess. I'm glad for your pictures, though. It makes me aware of what's happening in your neck of the woods. :-)

  4. If you discover a way to make it stop please tell us because it sounds like we could all use that information.
Looking out the window here the snow is coming down and the wind is blowing clouds of loose snow off roofs.
I have no doubt schools will be closed tomorrow!!

  5. We're getting a lot of rain now, so much it sounds like running water outside. I want a few sunny days above freezing so it can melt. I hope neither of us gets ice. Stay safe.

  6. That is a crazy amount of snow especially for your area. Fingers crossed it stops and doesn't turn to freezing rain!

  8. What gorgeous photos!! It's an awful nuisance but it sure is pretty! We are in the midst of a snowstorm right now, it's been snowing since early morning and it looks like a blizzard out there. Not looking forward to shoveling!!

  9. That is unbelievable! Oh my gosh, makes me feel ashamed for ever complaining. I sure hope the snow stops for you all, and for a lot of others too. What a winter. Poor snow cat. I think she loves you. Be careful out there!

  10. Yikes! It's finally raining but, as you said, it's a mess out there. The snow cat picture is hilarious. Let's hope we don't see snow like this ever again except in pictures taken in the mountains. Glad you're safe and sound. No road plowing on our streets but our sidewalk was shoveled and is now mostly bare.

  11. Had to smile at your title. But it is soooo pretty. I love and want snow so much but I can imagine that if I got as much as you have, I might ask for it to stop also:))

  12. We moved to a house in West Seattle in 1996. There was a big snow sometime around then, I remember my husband out shoveling the deck because we were afraid it would collapse under the weight of all that water. We left in 2006 and by then it seemed like snow was a thing of the past - until it wasn't. Here's hoping for uninterrupted power until this system moves on out.

  13. Same here in Woodinville - shoveled and then it snowed twice again. Then this morning (Tuesday) to add insult to injury our power went out - 7 hours worth but I think there are those that have had it worse. I feel for them. Just glad we have a fireplace insert that contains an oven.

  14. Is this the most snow you have ever had? I don't remember much talk from out your way about snow depth. Poor Charlie. I bet he is lonesome with all the bad weather and his people not being out and about much. Those colorful discs really show up in the snow. I call those snow clumps 'big fat snowflakes' when it is coming down. It sure piles up in a hurry.

  15. OH MY GOSH! That is a LOT of snow. That would be a lot for even Chicago. However, it does look like a pretty winter scene though.
