A Word About Collusion

It is a relief to know that there was not evidence that the President of the United States acted knowingly with the Russians to undermine our election process. It is a relief that we are spared the immediate need for Impeachment to try the president for treason.

Those findings do not negate what we do know, that Trump welcomed the interference, encouraged it, and was gleeful over the resulting attacks on his opponent, Hillary Clinton, all the while denying that it was the Russians that helped him win.

The findings also do not negate the facts we know that prove Trump is a liar and a cheat with tendencies to white supremacy. We know he surrounded himself with liars and cheats and crooks, because that is who he is too. Birds of a feather.

Many will want this all to go away now. It won't. There will be vicious attacks on the media, and on the "sore losers" in Congress who continue their investigations. There will be recriminations and revenge seeking on the part of the president's supporters. There will be more narcissistic bloviating.

It isn't over. The fat lady hasn't sung yet. We can only hope that the final act begins with the election in 2020.

  1. Hi Linda, Brave post! I wish I had written it myself. It's been a rough few days since Friday - trying to sort all of this out. Trump is the most corrupt president we have every had and I am counting the days until 2020. The reason I follow your blog, even though I don't comment as often as I should, is that, other than my interest as a fellow retired teacher, I always admire your honesty and willingness to speak your truth on your blog. We must continue to resist. Thanks for this and kudos! Hugs, Cheryl

  4. Bless you. Thanks for distilling all the chatter down to understandable terms. I agree with Speaker Pelosi when she said ”He’s not worth it” referring to impeachment. Impeachment has never succeeded in removing a man from office. Nixon resigned, Johnson and Clinton continued their presidencies after impeachment. Impeachments are messy and apparently accomplish very little. Trump will not go quietly because once he leaves office there are many lawsuits to be settled.I’m just going to hold my nose and continue watching the Juncos building a nest on my patio.

  5. If he does not get re-elected there is a strong chance he will face criminal charges out of New York and New Jersey and probably a number of other districts.

  7. I agree completely with everything you have said here. But you already knew we are birds of a feather. Thank you for saying it. :-)

  8. President Trump is not a politician, he was elected by us people who are sick and tired of Politicians. He may be rough around the edges and sleep around...but a number of former presidents have done that and worse. I think as our elected president he deserves more respect than the media is giving him. I still like him and will vote for him again! :)

  9. Thank you for echoing my thoughts and stating them so well. I am up to my ear holes with this man and keep being amazed at how he twists the truth. Hopefully our new congress can throw some punches that land.
