Why It's called Useless Bay

For my Skywatch photos, scroll down to the next posting, then come back to get the answer to the question everyone is asking.

This is Useless Bay at high tide, with the Olympic Mountains in the background.

This is Useless Bay at very low tide. Of course, if you are looking for a spot to build a harbor, this bay is useless. But for exploring the tide flats on a sunny day, it's perfect! Stay tuned for more Whidbey Island wonders.

    First I forgot to say how nice it was to see the flags flying in your Sky Watch post.
    Useless Bay looks far from useles indeedand your cabin is exquisite... I look forward to calling backand seeing more from around here.

    Thank you for stopping by my Sky Watch entry. I love your beach shots; I live pretty far away from the ocean so it is a real treat to visit. The beaches like the one your photos are fun ones to visit because you can get as wet as you choose.

    uselessness is in the eye of the beholder and if the beholder is a developer then I'm glad he thinks it is useless.
