Sunset over Useless Bay, Whidbey Island, WA.
The Stars and Stripes fly over our cabin on Whidbey Island, with an additional nod to some of our heritage as well. Like our country, we are a melting pot, a blend of cultures and nationalities.
It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures. We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!
Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world … No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.
And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky! Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions
Let me wish you and all your beloved ones a Happy 4th of July!
These are nice! I like that you added the flag pic as well. I see from the post below that you're visiting Whidby Island. I read a blog that's written by two women who live there, too.
It's http://www.lifeonanisland.com/ just in case you're interested. Happy 4th to you!
A beautyful set of pictures for sure.. thank you so much for sharing these. I came here after reading your comment on my 'Paintbox' blog to say thank you for sucha great comment.. I will be going to You Tube to listen tothat song now.
Very beautiful sunset shots! I know I'm late however I still wish you a Happy Fourth of July. The USA is really a melting pot of different cultures and nationalities living together in harmony. The secret of this success must be a solid democracy, mutual respect and the American upper identity which embraces all these people of different origins.
