Skywatch - Hats For a Mountain

Mt. Rainier frequently wears a cap cloud, but last Friday at sunset, the mountain seemed to have a reserve supply. The cap clouds were stacked up like caps on a shelf in a hat shop - a hat shop for mountains. Mt. Rainier is to the right in the picture. Click to enlarge. These photos were taken on Sunlight Beach, Useless Bay, Whidbey Island.

  7. The mountain in my header is also Mt. Rainier. The photo was taken at sunrise on the southern flanks of the mountain in July at Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park.
