I got a nice facial when I went down the driveway to get the paper this morning. We're having what we like to call "liquid air". It's foggy, with a steady mist/drizzle, but mild at 45 degrees. I stayed out to take a few pics.
The raindrops hang from the branches of the Japanese maple.
How come you have so much green outside? You are much farther north than I am, and we are snow-covered! I just love pictures of your yard. You must be a wonderful gardener.
ReplyDeleteJanie, the green is because of our marine climate. Although we can get snow, many years we don't. We have Puget Sound, a large body of salt water, that keeps our weather mild summer and winter.
ReplyDeleteOk, I admit it, I am SO jealous of where you live! I would so love to have such a lovely view as you do year-round!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous, too. I was amazed at the beauty of the Northwest while we were there. I love fog, too. I had it on rare occasions in Illinois and I wanted to wade in it.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing about that newspaper! Art and I were just commenting that both our newspapers (Star Bulleting and Advertiser) were exceedingly thin this morning. Not much news? Maybe the old adage is true, "No news is good news."
My Texas friends tell me all the time that they couldn't live here because of all the rain, they need sun. They should try it before making such a atatement. I dearly love it! I do think you probably get more rain and fog than we do though.
ReplyDeletei'm a sun person, crave sunshine. Have thought several times of moving to Northwest but knew I couldn't survive without sunshine daily. It is beautiful though every season.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sunshine, too. I find rain and cloudy skies depressing.
ReplyDeleteIs that what you call it. We had fog all day and I called it a good day to go to the gym instead of walking.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny when people comment on my blog and say oh look your lawn is turning green already---They don't seem to believe me that we are pretty much green all year round. that is why we are called the Evergreen State I say. To no avail I sometimes think.
ReplyDeleteNice pics you too.
Keep on track about your use of the Serger. MB
Well done Linda for finding beauty even in winter with your photos. Good luck too with your new sewing machine. - Dave
