We all began to gather back at Jill's house about 11:30 to prepare for the festivities.
We were celebrating Easter and Irene's birthday and whenever Jill and her kids are involved, there has to be a theme. So this year it was Easter Kitties.
The table was set.
And the birthday cake was ready. I'll take credit for the centerpiece, using the kids' toys. Jill gets all the credit for the cake!
The kids entertained themselves while the cooks finished up.
Once Jan and Ann arrived and the food was served and the eating and visiting started, there was no time for photos. Please know that the ham and twice baked potatoes and asparagus and fruit salad and "Good Morning Buns" were all delicious.
After dinner we cleaned up while some lounged.
Then it was time for the egg hunt. Everyone searched for the 80 eggs that Tom hid earlier.
It's time to count to see if we have them all, and check the contents.
Some of the eggs contained candy and some contained money. Jake likes money, not candy, so he set up a candy selling business on the deck.
It was very bright and sunny, so we had Irene open one of her gifts from Gma and Gpa.
Yes, it's a rainbow colored patio umbrella, but it needs a bit of adjusting to work, so we "tabled" that and went on to other gifts.
There was cursive writing on this card so Isaac helped.
Irene liked her photos of her cats that I took while hanging around their house one day watching Tom work.
Irene got lots of fun gifts and clothes and a new fancy lamp for her bedroom.
And then it was time for cake!
The cake and ice cream were delish. The fun and visiting continued into the early evening before we all went our separate ways.
It was a great day!
Well that was a fun day with Easter and a birthday rolled into one day.
