A Walk in the Sunshine

Sunday afternoon, my hip, knee and back all cooperating, I collected my husband from his yard work, and we went down into the Kent Valley for a walk along the Green River.

First we stopped to walk around the Old Fishing Hole.

A turtle was enjoying the sun too.

Then we followed an old country road along the Green River.

Unfortunately, before we got to the bridge to cross over, we had to walk along a huge scarified area that will soon be another development. I didn't photograph that. I only wanted pretty pictures.

On the other side of the river, we followed the walking path along the golf course.

We caught glimpses of Mt Rainier. Unfortunately, here again, development will soon obscure this view.

Back over the river, we completed about 2.25 miles, mostly slow and easy, enjoying the sun and the color and the quiet.

  2. Beautiful! How sad that development will obscure the view soon. We have that happening in Honolulu with taller and taller skyscrapers taking away our views of ocean and mountain in certain areas. I do tend to like growth and change but not when it becomes invasive to peace and beauty.

  4. You photos are wonderful, I love the glow of the yellow leaves, and that path with golden leaves on it. Too bad the view of Mount Rainier will be obscured soon.

  8. Gorgeous pictures. The old fishing hole is especially lovely with reflections of bright autumn colors. Yikes, more development?

  10. These pictures are wonderful. That was such a pretty walk. Glad your back and hip pain was better. Shelby and I walked a lot at the Fair yesterday and my hip was bothering me, which scares me. Couldn't help but think about you and hoping you were feeling better.
