Many of you know Connie through her blog Far Side of Fifty. She and her husband "Far Guy" are expert carvers and they spend many hours creating lovely little things. Each year they carve a new ornament to give to friends and family, and also to a few lucky blog friends.
Connie is a crafter in other mediums too. She knits and crochets, and she makes her own cards, including her Christmas cards.
Connie likes to gift others with her creations. This year I got the luck of the draw to receive one of her ornaments. It came in the mail on Monday, and what a treasure was contained in that mail pouch! Not only was there the ornament, but it was packed in a lovely little box, and swaddled in a crocheted pot scrubber. Also included was her Christmas card and the Christmas letter written by both Connie and her husband.
Having followed Far Side for quite a few years now, I sort of feel like I have family in Minnesota. The letter was fun to read because I know these people even though we have never actually met.
Thank you, Connie, for the special delivery that came to me today!
That is a wonderful early Christmas to you from Connie and hubby at Far Side. I follow them too and how nice to receive the package from a blog friend, it makes us more "real", like the Velveteen Rabbit.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll enjoy your treasures as I did when I won the draw.
