The entry gate house is so beautiful, and the entry garden is full of tender little plants popping up with delicate blooms.
A collection of Auricula (I think) primroses is displayed in the gatehouse.
I love the promise of big, fat buds.
We follow the driveway to the house, where old plants still thrive.
It was so tempting to take off on one of these pathways, but time was limited for this visit. We have done it in the past.
Back on the outer edge of the display garden.
This is a beautiful place to visit in late April into May, and the woodland setting is perfect for rhododendrons.
Pretty Rhodos.
ReplyDeleteI like Auricula Primroses a lot. Used to have some that bloomed for a few years then disappeared. I bought more but those didn't make it through one winter even.
wow, just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteExcellent coverage. I haven't been there in several years---a must do. A wonderful place.

I agree that it is a super place to visit. Leaving these old places is a wise decision.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, and I am so glad to know it's nearby, so that perhaps I will visit it myself. I went to Roozengaarde today and am filled to the brim with tulips right now! :-)
ReplyDeleteBig fat buds are the thing right now. Love em all... A gorgeous place to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, peaceful place. I could have spent a lot of time under that gazebo with the water view.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful too. Bet when you close your eyes to sleep at night, you see flowers. I've never had much luck with Rhododendrons. Maybe I should try growing another one. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place! Far Guy is out of the hospital but still struggling. Most of my time is spent taking care of him. I am feeling a bit more like a real person today. Sure hope it lasts. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother nice virtual garden tour for me.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful garden! Can you imagine actually living there?
ReplyDeleteYou have so many gorgeous gardens in your area!!!
