Saint Patrick's Day

I don't know if the Irish have any more luck than the rest of us these days, but we could all use some good luck.

I'm sure you are all trying to figure out how to adjust to the new ab-normal. We are too. As Tom and I were having our dinner, salmon we purchased from Costco today, we decided the way we were feeling at the moment was irritable.

What can we do - not much, - what can't we do - almost everything that takes us away from home. Of course we do have lots we can do here on the Reeder half acre, but right now my back is such a mess still that even gardening and going for a walk are out. So, yes, I'm irritable. This too shall pass.

We realize that it is important to practice social distancing, to keep ourselves and others safe. Trips to the nearby Safeway store when necessary will be about the extent of our wandering.

But it's the middle of March. Spring starts in two days. Here in the coastal PNW the daffodils are in bloom and the greening has begun.
Happy St Patrick's Day. Find a reason to laugh.  Laughing is good for you.

  3. I'm sorry you are in pain. It's hard not to overdo gardening when the sun finally shines.
Every day we learn of more closures due to the virus. Now even the libraries!! Oh no.
Tomorrow we;ll celebrate our granddaughter's 17th birthday and try to forget all the gloomy news.

  4. Yes, it's important to laugh. I think I'll find some old comedies to enjoy. Happy St. Patty's Day to you and yours, Linda. Stay safe. Today I'll try my french press and report about the results. :-)

  5. Good idea about laughing. Best medicine for our minds and bodies. So sorry about your back. That first spring push in the garden is so tough on the ole body.
    Take care and stay safe.

  8. Love those daffodils and the runner they are sitting on. I hope your back recovers with this forced internment.

  9. Happy St. Patrick's Day! There is usually a big celebration here (Kansas City) but the parade and everything else has been canceled. I told our cats this morning they would have to entertain us today and they usually do. Your table looks so pretty and Spring like! Those daffodils are absolutely beautiful! You two take care!
