1-1-11 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

NEW HEADER: Although I took this photo yesterday, the dawning of the last day of the old year, it represents to me the dawning of a new day. And what a day it is again today, cold and clear. More blue skies coming my way!
NEW TOYS: Tom and I gave each other Season Sounders tickets for this new year, but we did have a wish list. Jill and Corey came through!
-
Here is my new toy, an iPod nano.
This is all new to me, so I did "Start here", but found not much there. On the second attempt I successfully set up my account in iTunes. I used my iTunes card to buy and download a few songs. Then I played around with downloading some of my CDs and syncing them to the iPod. Done! I now have about 200 songs, all oldies of course.
-
I'm tuned in to my favorite FM radio station, and have figured out the Pedometer. I need a tutorial on downloading a podcast. So far I have not been successful. Son Jake will have to show me how. He's my tech support.
-
Tom asked for external storage for the computer, to back up all the photos he's scanned, plus the thousands I have in photo files. Corey, who is our computer expert, came through.
Tom is now in the process of downloading photo files we are closing out. In this new year, I'll be setting up new files to fill.
-
I have the Rose Parade on on my little TV next to the computer. I see that Pasadena has bright blue skies too. Hopefully the new year is bringing a relief from torrents of rain and flooding, at least on our west coast.
-
Today we will be heading south about 100 miles to gather with my big family for our annual holiday/Mom's birthday celebration. My mother celebrated her 89th birthday on December 28. We will honor her today, along with eating and talking and hugging, and watching the youngest generation run and play, and did I say "eating"?
-
And then tomorrow we begin our diets, or at least getting back to healthier eating, and exercising!
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone.

  7. Well, of COURSE the songs you downloaded are all oldies. They are the best for our generation, and in my humble opinion are just the best anyway. And I'm hoping you will enjoy it as much as I do my iPod Touch. Happy New Year and New Decade, Linda!
