Our little girl is 38 today. How can that be???
-
She was born on March 4th (march forth), 1973, in a year when the daffodils and forsythia were in full bloom. That is not the case on this anniversary of her birth. It's still too cold for spring here.
-
In those days we didn't know what we were having so we called our expected child "Daffodil", to bloom in the spring. And as you can see, she bloomed beautifully.
-
About 11 years ago she moved herself out of the Northwest to live on the plains of eastern Colorado. She married Corey and started her own family. While we don't like it that she, and they, are so far away, it does give us good reasons to get on an airplane and go traveling several times a year.

I called Jill last night. Both of the kids were sick, one vomiting. It didn't look like a good birthday was in the offing. But via Facebook exchanges this morning, she confirmed that both kids were fine and back in school.
-
Jill was back in school too, teaching reading at Green Acres Elementary School. Officer Corey was home baking a cherry pie, Jill's favorite. Tomorrow they'll celebrate at a favorite restaurant.

Happy Birthday, Jill!
One thing about kids is the sickness comes and goes pretty quickly. So I'm hoping it will be a good birthday! Now did that happen that they got so old so quickly? I know that feeling! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Jill! She is so beautiful and a chip off the ol' block!
ReplyDeleteJIll is lovely, and so is her family. I am in Northern Colorado today to celebrate my daughter's 37th birthday tomorrow. So, you Jill and my Amy were born a year and a day apart. I hope the children are feeling better by this evening.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Jill!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family portrait.
Do you remember what you were like when you were 38?
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILL!
Happy birthday to your daughter Jill, Linda - Dave
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family! They look to be a very happy foursome.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daughter -- she seems strong like her mother! Wise enough, too, to choose a man who can make a cherry pie. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous family!! Happy Birthday to Jill and I'm glad the young ones are feeling better.
A belated Happy Birthday to Jill! Such a beautiful family and I know how very proud you are of them all!

Happy Birthday Jill!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daffodil is Daphne. She lives in Austin. I usually bring her here. She loves going to the places I frequent and thinks she could live in Vancouver quite happily.
ReplyDeleteShe came last April to see the tulips. Throughly amazed she was. And she enjoyed shopping at Cloud Nine and 10,000 villages and in LaConner too, Pike Place.
This year she may come summertime.
Happy Birthday Jill. You have a great Mom and Dad and family.
