We're getting back into gear here at home. I spent most of the morning catching up on blog reading.
Tom was able to get the lawn mowed, and then this afternoon the sky cleared. It was time to grab my camera and go out and see what changes had occurred since we left ten days ago.
The tulips and scilla are coming into bloom. The beds are erupting with growth.
Grape hyacinths are such a lovely blue.
Bare soil is disappearing.
Fairy Bells, a native here.
And wood violets, also native.
The white trillium have aged to purple.
Magnolia stellata
Leucojum - Spring Snowflake
Viburnum Burkwoodii has a heady, sweet fragrance
Tom moved his tomato and flower seedlings out of the greenhouse into the sunlight for the day.
Red trillium have beautiful foliage
After a hiatus while traveling, I'm getting back to my exercise routines, and back to cooking healthy meals. We're hoping the weather warms up by next week so we can start the spring gardening in earnest. Plant sales begin Saturday!
Beautiful! I can't wait until it looks like that here!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips!
ReplyDeleteWe planted three rows of peas before we left - the weather was too cold for anything else.
Oh, yes! The sun has been wonderful, hasn't it! Gorgeous flowers and superb captures as always, Linda! Glad you had some sun to welcome you back home! Enjoy!

ReplyDeletelovely blooms, can almost smell them...happy times
ReplyDeleteOh, what beautiful gardens you have. I know they're a result of much work and tender care by you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteExtremely beautiful flowers, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI always like the activity of returning home and putting things in order -- doing laundry, working outside...
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are lush and beautiful!
So beautiful! I saw my first trillium in the wild last Thursday, just beginning to bloom. I love the picture of the sun coming through the tulips. We've got more rain on the way, though... :-(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips! Over here in Hawaii, the sun was way too hot yesterday. I had to turn on the a/c. Maybe, today, I'll buy some flowering plants for the patio. You inspire me, Linda!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful. Due to so much rain here in the San Joaquin Valley this winter, we too are enjoying lots of flowers. My bulbs are done for the year, though. Today, my hubby is out mowing our patch of grass, too.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I wish I had your garden. Everything looks fabulous and you can tell the love and all the hard work you put into it by looking at all those gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteAll I can think of to say is Wow! I am loving your garden. I think you have the best garden of anyone who I know who writes a blog. I never tired of seeing what you are growing.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are gorgeous. I love the tags on the flowers. When we moved here, there were a lot of old plantings and I am learning names of many that I didn't know from your postings. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful, funny how it blooms without us. My wisteria was almost done when I returned from my trip.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day here and I worked in the garden most of the day. Our temps are warmer and I planted my tomatoes and peppers.
You have way more going on in your yard than is going on up here. My Tulips haven't even bloomed yet although they have bloomed in the valley. But we are slow to go here. Way to cold. 34 here this morning. MB
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so impressed by your gardens (a more than a teeny bit envious).
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the trillium changed color!! I want some trillium, so pretty. I love the native plants. I met them hiking!,
