    Good post! Enjoyed it!!

p.s. For the record, I'm not a southern belle... I'm a California surfer chick, born and raised in
Las su dad de Los Angeles. But, I still love lavender. I just learned that it likes dry soil and thrives with little water. Just How great is that? An easily maintened, gorgeous plant that smells yummy.

  8. This is a plant I have loved and lived with all my life, until a few years ago. My mum grew this and would put the dried flowers in tiny cloth bags in the draws. It would be in our pillows to relax with. My sister would have her hair wash in water that had a handful on the flowers soaking in.

I grew this next to the front path and loved it, I would pull a few flowers off and rubbed them into my hand and take in the smell.. beautiful.

All this stopped four years ago when I came across some while out walking.. I did as I always did and pulled a few flowers and rubbed them into my hands. A hour or so later my hands were burning and itchy. two hours and my hands had swollen and the pain was very bad... I had to keep thenin cold water. Since then the reaction I get as gone worse... I was given a jar of honey... it was beautiful... but within a short time of eating it my mouth, lips, even my eye lids had swollen. I now have to keep well away from such a beautiful plant. I have to state as well that I know of nothing else that I have reactions to... my allergy is just to lavender
