Fun, Food and Fireworks

It's after midnight, we have been home over a half an hour, and we should be in bed, but it's still too noisy outside to sleep.  Obviously the ban on fireworks here in our area is not being enforced.

So I am posting my post-holiday post.

It was a beautiful morning for a parade. We joined the sidewalk set for the neighborhood of Normandy Park parade.

It was mostly old classic cars and kids riding various vehicles, some that you might call floats.  It was fun, and lots of candy was flung to kids on the curb.

Then we all followed the parade down to The Cove , the Normandy Park Community Center, for free hot dogs and popcorn and ice cream.

 Irene got decorated.
There were ducks in the pond, but no ducklings this year.
 There were Lamborghinis.  Zoom, zoom!
We strolled on the beach a bit.

And then we headed home for some down time.
Later in the afternoon we arrived at Jan and Ann's house on Henderson Bay.
We ate and visited and ate more. Finally the sun went down and the clouds that had moved in began to clear.

Fireworks shot into the sky from the shoreline all around the bay.  Then there was an eruption of booming from the barge in the bay, and the big show began.

All of today's photos are from my iPhone, so my fireworks shots will not win any prizes, but here goes!

It was a good old fashioned Fourth of July!

And now I do believe it has gone quiet outside.  Bedtime!

  12. It looks like you had a fun time . If it wasn't for the kids you'd have been in bed before ten?
